Is ICA open to more than just caravans?

Many motorhome/RV owners, worldwide, enjoy the benefits of lCA -why not join, go to the Membership page?

How are members looked after worldwide?

ICA is run by the Council of Management which has elected membership from around the world.  The membership of Australia, Denmark, Germany (which covers Austria), The Netherlands (including Belgium and Luxembourg), New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden, The United Kingdom (5 English areas, Scotland and Wales) and the seven regions of the United States.

 What is a Representative? 

A Representative offers advice to members visiting their country, liaises with national clubs, assists with ICA events organized within their country and act as local contact point for our international activities. Some of them collect subscriptions in local currency. 

How do we book rallies?

Full details of the rallies, and the rally leaders, are given in our bi-monthly News Magazine or Newsletter that you will receive when your are a member. It is agreed that places are reserved for new members.

How do members meet each other, are there events that would suit?

In Britain there are two main events of five days, the first in April is to suit the Annual General Meeting this has to be open to all members worldwide.  In the late summer there is another event which gives Rally/Tour leaders an opportunity to advertise their events and take names of interested people. During the winter months,  one day 'Get-togethers' and lunches are held around the country for local members.  Other countries may run their own events to suit their own programmes.

 When joining a rally involving Channel crossings do members make their own ferry bookings or are they included in the Rally costs?

Getting to rallies in Britain or Europe are normally your own responsibility, the Rally costs only cover from the starting and finishing point of the Rally.

 

Do the rallies include site fees or does each unit pay direct to the site owner on arrival?

Site Fees are generally included in the Rally costs.  It is very rare to pay site fees direct to the site.

Are there any charges levied to each member for any particular rally and if so what do the charges cover?

Costs may differ from Rally Marshall to Rally Marshall.  There is normally an administrative charge, when you apply to join a Rally, this is non returnable; this can be between £10 and £25, depending on the Rally    Officer; this covers costs like printing, postages and other starting up costs but this is part of the total Rally charges.

Can we get cheap ferry crossings, or discounted caravan insurance through the ICA?

Unfortunately not. The ICA is run by members, who are not paid in any way for their services, solely for holding rallies in their own country or long haul rallies in other countries.

If travelling, for example, to the United States or New Zealand for a Tour do I have to pay for my outfit to be transported there?

The cost if the Tour includes hire of Motorhomes/RVs for the duration of the event.

 Does the rally include personal & vehicle insurance, or has this to be arranged by the individual member?

Insurance has to be arranged by the member.

Does ICA employ paid staff? 

No, all the Officers and Council members are volunteers. They pay all their own travelling expenses and accommodation charges when attending meetings.  Similarly Rally Officers and Tour leaders are volunteers and pay the same charges as the rest of their Rally  members. 

Can subscriptions be paid by Standing Order? 

Certainly, standing orders, cash or cheques are acceptable in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Direct Debit facilities are not available. Special payment arrangements may apply in other parts of the world, go to the  Membership page.
